- Community liaison
- Story and archive research
Following a competitive tender Art is an Option were asked to deliver a comprehensive community focused project. The project encompassed talking to all the stake-holders, liaising with the 7 communities, collating the stories, doing archive research, copywriting, design, production and finally the installation in the ground.
One interesting feature used in the Bannockburn Community Council area was creating links to a website where “audio tours” and other useful information could be easily accessed.
Our work culminated in the delivery of 24 lectern panels spread across the 7 community council areas. We not only ensured that the lecterns we visually engaging we carefully considered their manufacture and the lecterns structure is made front a robust material called plaswood which is made from recycled tyres. The actual panels are made from GRP (glass-fibre) which is very durable and colour fast with a 10 year guarantee.
